Lisa Lawrence -- Instructor
Lisa Lawrence at Fallingwater
Lisa Lawrence is a nationally certified Kundalini yoga instructor who began her yoga practice in 1975 with Ravi Singh Khalsa, NYC. In 1976 she was given her spiritual name, Guru Anand Kaur (which means “Teacher of the Wisdom of Bliss”), from the acknowledged Master of this yoga, Yogi Bhajan.

From that point on, Lisa has taught yoga nationwide--from Beverly Hills to Shorewood Hills and from New Orleans to New Glarus. She currently teaches in Madison, WI.

Lisa began teaching at Columbia University and New School for Social Research in 1975, then went on to teach at American University in Fiesole, Italy, The Spa in Beverly Hills, and Yogaworks in New Orleans before settling in Madison in 1987.

Lisa began teaching with Sant Kaur at UW Sports & Fitness Center then took over the yoga program at Meriter Hospital. From there she began teaching at Mound Street Collective then started up the yoga program at UW's Mini-Courses.

She has presented workshops at the Quarry Arts Well Within Studio, Body in Balance, Madison Senior Center, Verona Area High School, East/West Acupuncture, Capital Fitness and, in Fitchburg, the Orange Shoe Gym and BlissFlow Yoga Studio. She left her position as Director of ANiU Yoga in Middleton to develop her breakthrough program for "'Peace Within Prisons" for Wisconsin's Department of Corrections.

Through her work with Yogi Bhajan, Ravi Singh and Gurmukh, Lisa has been able to certify more than a dozen teachers so far in her local Teacher Training Program, making it possible for students of all economic backgrounds to realize their dreams of teaching yoga and inspiring others.

In 1999 Lisa opened her private studio, The Yoga Room, on the westside of Madison, Wisconsin. Her experience allows her to work with students at all levels of yoga practice. Lisa also teaches Kundalini yoga classes at Meriter Hospital, UW Mini-Courses, and Madison Senior Center. Lisa brings more than 30 years experience to her yoga practice.

Courtney Oftedahl -- Instructor
Courtney Oftedahl
Courtney was certified in Kundalini Yoga by Instructor Lisa Lawrence of The Kundalini Research Institute in 2001. She also attended various workshops by nationally known Yoga Master Ravi Singh Khalsa of N.Y.C.

The main focus of her instruction is working with asana (postures and exercises), pranayama (breathing techniques), and the practice of meditation. Kundalini has helped her eliminate negative habits, increase muscle tone and emotional balance, gain mental clarity, and lose forty pounds since 2001. She enjoys watching the same changes occur in the lives of her students.

Courtney has taught a variety of classes in Madison, Middleton, Cross Plains, Black Earth, Sun Prairie, and Fitchburg.

Katie Muschlewski -- Instructor

Katie began practicing Kundalini yoga in 1998. She is certified with the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) of Espanola, New Mexico. In her experience, Kundalini Yoga helps bring balance and bliss to all aspects of her life, including her ability to birth at home two beautiful children. Katie has apprenticed under Lisa Lawrence, also known as Guru Anand Kaur, and has met and attended workshops with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. These two phenomenal teachers continue to inspire her practice and teaching.

Erica Schock -- Instructor
Erica Schock
Erica studied with Lisa Lawrence (Guru Anand Kaur) of the Kundalini Research Institute and earned her 200-hour teaching certification in 2007. In her classes, she seeks to help people cultivate inner wisdom, foster balance, and transcend their boundaries. Her classes are grounded in kindness, compassion, and humor. The array of physical, mental, and spiritual benefits conferred by kundalini yoga astound and inspire her, and she enjoys sharing the practice with others. In 2007, she attended workshops with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa at the Grand Geneva Conference.
